This website is operated as an "end user helps end user" platform. We attach great importance to appropriate and respectful interaction with one another. To ensure that this can be maintained, we insist on compliance with certain basic rules and reserve the right to block or delete content if these rules are violated.
General communication
- Respectful interaction with one another
Behind every user is a human being who must be treated with a minimum amount of respect without restriction. This applies in particular when opinions and views differ. Statements that insult or otherwise demean people are always inappropriate. - Stand by your written word
Everyone has their own ideas about how something should look or function. Everyone is free to express their own opinion. However, you should not hide under the cloak of anonymity. Stand by your opinion! - Texts should be written properly
The "A" and "O" in an exchange is appropriate spelling. Capitalisation, proper formatting and paragraphs are a basic requirement. Colours should be used sparingly. Use the text editor tools to set off or emphasise command lines or codes from the rest of the text, for example.
Last but not least, read through your texts again before sending and check them. In particular, time pressure or "fast writing" cannot and must not be an argument for illegible texts. - Written words can be misunderstood
In written communication, gestures and facial expressions, which are common in face-to-face dialogue, cannot be used to make the desired statement more comprehensible. This means that, depending on the context, statements may be understood differently than they are intended.
Smilies are only suitable to a limited extent, as their message can also be interpreted differently.
This applies all the more to ironic or sarcastic statements. For example, a statement such as "You're a douchebag" could either fall under friendly insults or be (mis)interpreted as a real insult. - Abbreviations are practical, but only partially helpful
The use of abbreviations for typical expressions, such as "e.g.", can save time for both the writer and the reader. Nevertheless, they should be used sparingly, especially if it can be assumed that not everyone is familiar with the abbreviation. - Not every battle deserves to be fought
Regardless of the topic, there will always be someone who has a different or opposing opinion. It can therefore happen that there is no agreement and no consensus is reached. If this happens, it is advisable to agree that there are different opinions and to put the issue to bed.
Unwanted content
The moderation of content outside of the core topic is not always easy to manage. We therefore exercise our right as the operator of this website to remove highly controversial posts or posts with the following characteristics:
- No marketplace offers
Marketplace offers of any kind are undesirable in our forum. This expressly includes trading in licences and hardware. - No off-topic advertising
If a topic falls under your company's portfolio and cannot be solved within the forum, you can refer to it - but please do so in moderation. Frequent or intrusive advertising is not tolerated. Off-topic advertising is not welcome under any circumstances and will be removed. We reserve the right to block the users concerned in the event of repeated offences. - No content or links to pages that infringe copyrights
This also includes statements that are intended to encourage people to infringe copyrights. - No discussions on political or religious topics
Such discussions have no place in our forum. There are plenty of other platforms for this on the Internet. - Linking of websites
Illegal pages and content are of course undesirable.
